Vinyasa Classes - The same featured sequence will still be practiced in August. When it comes to all weight bearing poses ,the fundamental works you need not only the strength in the upper body but also the flexibility in the hip and the lower back. Twisting poses definitely are a boon for these two regions. Enjoy flying off gravity!

A nice and fun twist pose is adapted in the class this month which i found in May 2010 Issue -Yoga Journal. The pose name is Ayurchakarasana ( Wheel of life Pose ) as figure ( 1 ). along with three Similar poses from Bharadvajasana as figured ( 2 ) i modified are basically served a warmth up before going into the full Ayurchakrasana. Essentially many benefits can be obtained from twisting poses! Happy Twisting!

Upcoming Event - ""108 Sun Salutation Challenge "" - details will be posted later.

In this refined twist , you can explore the hip asymmetry that also occurs in Eka Pada Rajakapotasana. Notice how your spine responds and focus on keeping both sides of the body equal in length. Feel how bending the knees stabilizing the pelvis, isolating the action in the spine. Use you core muscles to center the torso. This pose benefits from a light approach to keep the lower back joints happy. Invite space in your spine; use your breath to coax the back muscles to relax into the twist.
